Before using in the aquarium
Before adding new gravel, be sure to thoroughly rinse it under running water to remove dust, small particles, and organic debris. If necessary, you can boil the gravel to lower the pH, but this should only be done in extreme cases—excessive heat treatment destroys beneficial microflora.
How to Choose the Right Soil
Focus on the needs of your fish and plants. Neutral pebbles are best for aquariums with live plants. Avoid materials that significantly increase water hardness (such as marble chips or limestone pebbles).
Aquarium Gravel Maintenance
Regularly siphon the gravel to remove accumulated dirt and organic waste. This helps prevent ammonia buildup and maintain a healthy biological environment.
Important: Too frequent and aggressive cleaning can destroy beneficial bacteria, so siphon only when really necessary.
