Lately we have been receiving many questions about what means to protect wooden buildings are best to use when carrying out restoration work and updating wooden facades. After sanding the wooden facade, it is treated with antifungal impregnation and painted with complex finishing façade lasures, protecting it from seasonal precipitation, sudden temperature changes and long periods of humidity. If the log building needs to be sealed, it can be done with special sealants. Most of these sealants have an acrylic base. However, there are many cases when facade sealing is carried out by other methods, for example caulking with flax jute, or is not carried out at all in the wooden finishing of frame houses, in timber houses, where the landing profile and laminated wood do not contribute to the formation of cracks during drying and shrinkage of buildings. In such cases, we can recommend external wood protection products based on organic flax. They penetrate the wooden surface more deeply and are more resistant to moisture and rotting. In all cases of external processing, special attention is paid to the ends of logs and beams; they are impregnated and saturated with a wood preservative especially carefully. Also, processing of the ends is relevant for wooden finishing, blockhouse, imitation timber, lining, etc. wooden panels.
In some cases, it is sometimes necessary to provide protection to a wooden structure where operating conditions often approach extremes. For example, the building is located in an open area, a mountainous hill, where the wooden facade is not only at risk of icing but also from aggressive ultraviolet radiation.
